The Story Behind “(If One Lifetime Meant) Forever”

I originally wrote this song during my college years on a piano in a music practice hall — a period of creativity and emotion that has stayed with me ever since. Around 2015, my dad and I hired a music production service to bring some of our songs to life, and this was one of those projects. We later re-recorded and released it with a fresh, updated (but retro) sound. — Dan Parks

Lyrics

A diamond ring, a summer afternoon
Can't believe how many years it's been
It took an act of God to find you
And our love is just as strong as it was back then

And you know that if one lifetime meant forever
Well, I'd hold your hands and say my vows again
If we could only make this lifetime last forever
I know without a doubt this love would never end

Through the years we've had our troubles, yes it's true
There've been tears of joy and many tears of pain
Whatever you and I may go through
I want you to know I wouldn't change a thing

And you know that if one lifetime meant forever
Well I'd hold your hands and say my vows again
If we could only make this lifetime last forever
I know without a doubt this love would never end

And you know that if one lifetime meant forever
Well I'd hold your hands and say my vows again
If we could only make this lifetime last forever
I know without a doubt this love would never end

And you know that if one lifetime meant forever
Well I'd hold your hands and say my vows again
If we could only make this lifetime last forever
I know without a doubt this love would never end
